It is not uncommon for patients to be anxious or nervous when they have been referred to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon for a necessary procedure. At Monroe Oral Maxillofacial & Implant Surgery, we wish to provide you with a comfortable and caring office environment the minute you enter our door for your first appointment.
During your first consultation, Dr. Poore and our surgical staff will perform a thorough clinical examination, fully review your diagnosis, and provide you with the details of your upcoming procedure. On occasion, minor surgical procedures may be performed the same day as the consultation. If you have a complex medical history or require a more in-depth procedure, an additional evaluation and a second appointment may be necessary before providing treatment.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- Your surgical referral slip
- A list of medications you are presently taking
- If you have medical or dental insurance, bring the necessary completed forms. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.
- X-rays – If your dentist or physician has taken X-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.
Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern before surgery (e.g., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (e.g., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).
